My work as a chess coach was never as important to me as playing until I moved to Germany. Nevertheless when I was doing this job, I always did my best. From 1992 until 2001, I was a coach in a half-state sport organisation. I was not very busy there and consequently was not paid a great deal, but I obtained very useful experience that helps me in my job now. Below, I list the names of my best students (oldest to youngest): • Michael Feygin (International Master) – already with GM norms. • Alexey Suriadny (International Master) • Olga Alexandrova (International Grand Master) • Michael Prusikhin (International Grand Master) – he was until recently the coach of the land (similar to state/county) Bayer in Germany. Some of them I have trained for longer than others but feel I have played a major part in helping them achieve what they have in the chess world. |
